Wrexham could be four games away from matching unwanted record set before Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s takeover

Wrexham are enjoying a run of three games unbeaten in the league as they push on in their search of Championship football next season.

Huddersfield Town boss Michael Duff claims he has received an apology from the EFL after Wrexham’s controversial late winner from Steven Fletcher was given despite a suspected foul in the build up.

The three points were crucial for the Red Dragons however as they sit just two points behind Wycombe Wanderers in the final League One promotion place.

Rob McElhenney praised Wrexham fans during their 1-0 win at Rotherham United earlier on in the season and the Racecourse Ground will need to be rocking once again as Phil Parkinson’s side look to get back to winning ways there.

Wrexham four games away from unwanted record at the Racecourse Ground

Wrexham’s home form has been a bedrock of their success under Parkinson in recent seasons however, his side are just four games away from equalling an unwanted record set by the club back in 2007.

It is already the worst home run since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney took over the club in 2021 having been without a win in their last four league games.

The form began with a battling 1-1 draw with leaders Birmingham however, Wrexham lost 3-2 to Stevenage the following game in a dismal display.

That defeat was soon followed by another one at home to Leyton Orient before their recent 0-0 draw with Bolton Wanderers extending the winless run to four.

The club record is eight games without a win at the Racecourse Ground in 2007 and if Parkinson’s men harbour any hope of promotion, this winless streak needs to end against Rotherham.

Parkinson has Wrexham midfield dilemma yet again

Midfield has been a problem area for Wrexham this season with creativity often stifling the service given to the forwards.

Andy Cannon’s long term injury means that he has been ruled out for the season and George Dobson left the game early against Huddersfield meaning he is a major doubt for the Rotherham clash.

Elliot Lee replaced Dobson in the previous match and could be in line for his first start in the league since the defeat to Stevenage back in January.

The Red Dragons will be hoping for their third consecutive clean sheet after excellent recent defensive displays but now need to unlock their threat going forward in order to end their barren run at home.
