When debating the highlight of Wrexham’s 2025/26 season so far, Red Dragons fans were quick to reflect on Ollie Palmer’s incredible moment on his final appearance.

Wrexham’s 2025/26 campaign has already been a rollercoaster, with Red Dragons fans being put through the highs and lows so far.

It was a turbulent start to the season, which saw Wrexham have their first Championship win snatched away from them by a prolific Southampton side, who left it late to topple Phil Parkinson’s side.

That followed a further two winless Championship games before a vital victory against Millwall on the road.

Interspersed in Wrexham’s Championship season, they have been victorious in the opening two rounds of the EFL Cup, with Ollie Palmer stealing the show in the home win against Hull City.

While there have already been so many memorable moments in the season, Wrexham fans continue to reflect on Palmer’s brilliant parting gift.

Ollie Palmer’s final Wrexham game noted as standout 2025/26 moment

Wrexham supporters have been discussing their favourite moment of the campaign so far, and there was a resounding verdict of many going back to the EFL Cup victory at home to Hull City, which saw Ollie Palmer come off the bench and bag a late brace to take it to penalties.

The Red Dragons would then go on to win on penalties and proceed to the second round, but that felt secondary compared to the personal achievement of Palmer.

When asked their favourite moment of the season, one Wrexham fan said: “Ollie’s goodbye. Glad he got his moment and we got ours.”

Another supporter said: “Ollie’s brace swan song top for me. Kieffer’s goals, too. Lewis O’Brien goal under pressure was stellar. New players looking very good.”

One fan went down another route with his favourite, noting the opening goal against Southampton, with Josh Windass’ converted penalty being ‘a moment to savour’.

Ollie Palmer will always be welcomed back at Wrexham

Ollie Palmer has left Wrexham to join Swindon Town permanently, and while his time at the Racecourse Ground is over, many will never forget the impact he had at the club.

The partnership of Palmer and Paul Mullin proved to be deadly in the National League, and the striker continued to play a part in Wrexham’s success in the following years, even if not playing as prominently a role under Phil Parkinson.

Palmer became a cult hero at Wrexham, and deservedly so, whether it was his ability on the pitch, or the connection he had with Red Dragons owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac.
