Wrexham take on Stockport County in what is a huge clash at the top end of League One.
Wycombe’s 3-2 victory over Rotherham moved them back above Wrexham into second place in League One, whilst Charlton are moving into promotion contention.
Humphrey Ker revealed the ‘needle’ between Wrexham and Stockport and Phil Parkinson will know that his side will need to be at their best in the clash at the Racecourse Ground to claim the win.
Sam Smith has not been getting referee decisions during his spell so far in North Wales and the referee in charge for the Stockport clash has already had a big say on the Red Dragons so far this season.

Who is the referee for Wrexham vs Stockport?
The referee for Wrexham’s clash with Stockport at the Racecourse Ground is Simon Mather.
He will be joined by assistants Ollie Williams and Abbas Khan, whilst Elliott Swallow will be on Fourth Official duties.
Simon Mather referee record in 2024/25 season
Mather has had a busy season so far, refereeing a total of 31 games ranging from the National League to League One.
In comparison, in the whole of the 2023-24 season, Mather officiated in 36 games across all competitions but has been given slightly more responsibility this campaign.
In the 31 fixtures so far this season, Mather has produced 109 yellow cards, six red cards and given nine penalty kicks.
Mather officiated Wrexham’s defeat to Shrewsbury Town
Mather has been in charge of Wrexham matches on two occasions already this season with the Red Dragons earning mixed results.
Wrexham’s 1-0 win over Mansfield back in November 2024 was officiated by Mather and the game was decided by an early strike from Ryan Barnett however, Ollie Palmer and Dan Scarr were both cautioned.
Perhaps the most significant match for Mather though was when he took charge of Wrexham’s 2-1 derby defeat at Shrewsbury back in January.
Mather awarded the home side a penalty after a mistake from Eoghan O’Connell and the game also saw cautions for Ollie Rathbone and James McClean.
Parkinson will be keen for his side to keep their discipline in the upcoming clash with Stockport and avoid any opportunities for Mather to award another penalty against his side.
