One Wrexham signing has been given raving reviews after just one game for the Red Dragons.
Wrexham fell to defeat against Southampton at the weekend, and whilst Phil Parkinson’s side fell at the final hurdle courtesy of two late goals conceded, there were still many positives to take from the clash.
A total of six signings started from the off for the Red Dragons, including the likes of Josh Windass, who bagged the goal, as well as Kieffer Moore following his £4m move from Sheffield United. Ryan Hardie also came off the bench to make his debut.
Wrexham capsized defensively in the final stages, but there was much to admire about the attacking display from Parkinson’s players.
One new Wrexham signing, in particular, oozed quality in the game, having been labelled as a ‘top player’ by a former England international.

Wrexham signing Josh Windass given praise alongside fellow Red Dragons stars
When speaking on TalkSPORT, former Arsenal and England international midfielder Ray Parlour was left impressed by Wrexham and their efforts against Will Still’s Southampton, having led the game for the majority of the tie.
“They’ve got a little bit of experience now,” said Parlour. “Conor Coady’s gone to Wrexham and obviously Josh Windass, he’s a top player. They’ve got some good players there.”
The former Gunners man also spoke about Wrexham’s promotion chances, and whether they can manage back-to-back-to-back-to-back promotions to the Premier League.
“What a journey for Wrexham, they can’t believe their luck, can they? If they somehow get promotion, that’ll be four years in a row they’ll have won promotion. It’s unbelievable.”
It is safe to say that Wrexham captured the imagination of many as they came close to a memorable win at St Mary’s.

Josh Windass will be a crucial player for Phil Parkinson this season
Many of Wrexham’s new arrivals showed their quality against Southampton, despite the result, but the player who got Red Dragons fans off their seats the most was certainly Josh Windass.
We saw last season that Windass carries plenty of excitement and a potent goalscoring threat, and aside from the converted penalty, the former Sheffield Wednesday forward showed that in doses against Southampton.
Ray Parlour has made a bold prediction regarding promotion for Wrexham, and whilst that may be a step too far for this current Red Dragons side, with the likes of Windass, anything could be possible.
