With less than six months of the 2024/25 season now remaining, Wrexham have some tough calls to make.
The Red Dragons have already secured Ryan Barnett and Ollie Palmer to fresh contracts this campaign.
But Wrexham are in danger of losing Aaron James and Harry Ashfield for free in 2025.
The youngsters are two of the most talented prospects on the club’s books right now but their deals are set to expire in June when they can leave for free.
Elsewhere, the Welsh outfit have several players out on loan this season, a few of whom will return to the Racecourse Ground this month.
Sam Dalby, on the other hand, is supposed to remain at Dundee United until the end of the season but that could change given his form.

Andy Morrell comments on Sam Dalby Wrexham future
The 25-year-old has already scored 10 league goals during his stint in Scotland with Dundee United this season.
Dundee United have made their stance on Dalby clear ahead of a potential transfer in 2025.
But Parkinson has dropped a hint over the Wrexham loanee’s future already, perhaps meaning he could be recalled this month.
As well as deciding what to do with the Englishman in the winter window, however, there’s also the fact he is out of contract at the end of this season.
In turn, Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds will have to decide if they are willing to put up the cash required to tie him down to a new deal.
Alternatively, the American owners could look to move him on in January rather than lose him for free in June.
It’s a tough decision to make and Wrexham legend Andy Morell has now weighed in on the situation via X/Twitter.
He wrote: “Well said! He has put himself in a great position from going and playing games! Deserves to make decision himself. But saying that real quandary for club!”

Sam Dalby stats compared to Wrexham forwards
While his future remains up in the air for the time being, Wrexham fans may wish to see the striker recalled and given a run in the side this year.
There’s obviously a difference in quality playing in the SPL and League One but his goal return this term surely warrants Parkinson giving him a chance.
| Stats | Sam Dalby | Paul Mullin | Ollie Palmer | Steven Fletcher | Jack Marriott | Modou Faal |
| Appearances | 17 | 22 | 24 | 18 | 10 | 5 |
| Goals | 10 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 0 |
| Assists | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 0 |
No Wrexham forward comes close to matching Dalby’s league tally this season, with injured star Jack Marriott’s return of five the closest.
And even when adding together all of the Red Dragons’ currently fit striker’s goal tallies, Dalby has still netted one more league goal.
