Wrexham sent a number of players out on loan during the 2025 summer transfer window, including Modou Faal.

After struggling for minutes in 2024/25, Wrexham loaned Modou Faal to Port Vale for the current campaign.

Manager Darren Moore praised Faal last month when the striker scored his first goal for the League One side.

However, he has come under fire from supporters during the last week or so.

Port Vale fans were unhappy with Faal after a ‘poor’ performance in the EFL Trophy earlier this week, which saw them beat Leeds United’s U21s 4-1.

This weekend, while Wrexham had no fixture due to the international break, their on-loan centre-forward took to the field once more.

Port Vale played a home clash versus Leyton Orient on Saturday, September 6.

Faal started the fixture, but he was hooked at half-time, and the reaction to his display from fans on social media has not been positive.

One fan wrote: “Whoever it was saying Faal must start in a thread with me, how’s your eyes #pvfc.”

A second suggested: “Who the —- taught Mo Faal how to play football??”

“Get Marosi, Faal and Heneghan off that pitch at half-time. Don’t ever want to see Faal and Marosi again. Disgraceful,” demanded another.

A fourth echoed: “I do not want to see Faal in this second half.”

“Would take Heneghan, Headley, Byers and Faal off bring Mitch, Gordon, Ojo and Brown on,” a fifth tweeted.

And a sixth Port Vale fan stated: “Faal was totally ineffective.”

How much is Modou Faal worth now

Faal joined Wrexham from West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2024.

At the time, he arrived as a new record signing, setting the Dragons back £590,000.

However, he hardly played in League One last season, and his value, as expected, has decreased.

According to Transfermarkt, the Wrexham striker is now worth around £346,000.

Faal’s contract with the Welsh side will expire on June 30, 2027.
