Wrexham are set to face Norwich City this weekend, with Wrexham looking to find form after a poor start to their Championship campaign after collecting four points from their opening five matches.

The Red Dragons will be looking to get their first win over Norwich for 55 years this weekend when they travel to Carrow Road.

Should Wrexham secure a win against Norwich this weekend, they will earn consecutive away wins in the second tier for only the third time in their history.

Phil Parkinson will need to be wary of the threat Josh Sargent will cause his Wrexham side, and he may turn to one of his current Red Dragons stars to see if there is a secret to stopping the American after he spent time playing with the 25-year-old at Norwich.

Callum Doyle is ready to help Wrexham against his former club, Norwich City

Wrexham signed Callum Doyle this summer from Manchester City, partially due to his impressive performances at Norwich City last season.

Doyle played a total of 43 games with the Canaries last season, scoring only once; however, as a defender, that is not his first aim, as he looks to ensure the ball does not enter his net.

Wrexham may lean on him to share some secrets from Norwich to help them secure a win this weekend.

Speaking to The Leader, he said: “I enjoyed my time at Norwich.

“The club was well run, and the lads and the fans were great with me, and it’ll be good to go back and see some faces from the past.

“But I’m at Wrexham now, and my focus is here.”

Callum Doyle identifies the area that needs addressing for Wrexham to get results

The Wrexham defender is confident that his current club do not have any problems in creating chances and is confident Kieffer Moore will convert when given an opportunity.

However, speaking ahead of the fixture with Norwich, Doyle addressed the disappointment of Wrexham being unable to secure a win at the Racecourse in the Championship this season.

He said: “Against QPR, it was our own mistakes that led to the goals, and we’ve got to cut that out if we want to win games.

“Obviously it wasn’t the result that we wanted, but these Championship games come thick and fast, and we’ve got to move on to the next one and get the points up.

“But at the end of the day, it was our own mistakes that led to them winning the game.”
