Wrexham gave their fans a day they will never forget and optimism and excitement could not be higher heading into the clash at Crawley Town.
After the 3-2 home defeat to Stevenage, Wrexham fans were worried about the team making the play-offs and the mood at the club was downcast.
That all changed when Wrexham announced the signing of Sam Smith from Reading for what is believed to be a club-record deal.
Phil Parkinson wasn’t content with just Smith and fans excitement become uncontrollable when Wrexham confirmed the signing of striker Jay Rodriguez from Burnley.
The good news did not end there and after years of frustration and waiting, it seems that Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney’s vision may soon come to fruition.

Wrexham indicate new Kop plans imminent as they send out cryptic message on X
The Wrexham owners have been trying to finalise plans on a new Kop stand at the Racecourse Ground since they took over the club and they may be nearing the desirable conclusion to the saga.
Kaleen Allyn suggested the plans could be announced in February and the club have posted a number of posts on X to suggest those plans are close to being released.
The new Executive Director Allyn, claimed that she was ‘excited’ about the plans and that the new stand would have an ‘authenticity’ about it whilst still embedding the culture of Wrexham’s history.
Exciting times for the club both on and off the pitch and Parkinson’s side will be hoping to lift the feel good factor further with three points at Crawley.
Parkinson has a wealth of attacking talent to choose from
The big selection issue for Parkinson ahead of the League One clash at Crawley is who now starts as the front two.
Parkinson has hinted that Smith and Rodriguez may make their debuts and the club used the new signings in an X post used to promote the new Kop plans.
It is unlikely that Parkinson will start both Smith and Rodriguez given that they have had less than 24 hours at the club but it will be interesting to see which combination the manager opts for.
Wrexham know that anything less than three points will be a hammer blow to their promotion chances, Parkinson will be hoping to continue the feel-good factor around the Red Dragons.
