Wrexham have got their Championship assault underway with their first summer signing.
Plymouth fans were gutted to see Ryan Hardie leave in an indication that Phil Parkinson has picked up a gem of a signing for the club’s first tilt in the second tier since 1982.
Wrexham are just beginning a busy summer of transfer activity and with Hardie’s arrival, Paul Mullin is in talks with Wigan over a move to the League One outfit.
With several other areas in the squad in need of reinforcements, Wrexham are interested in Ryan Teague from Australian side Melbourne Victory.
The midfielder has impressed in the A-league this season and would become the club’s first major overseas signing, he has an interesting link to football icon Cristiano Ronaldo too…

Wrexham target Ryan Teague ‘headhunted’ by Jorge Mendes
Speaking to A-League news, Teague has recalled how he was ‘headhunted’ by super agent Jorge Mendes, the man who has represented the likes of Ronaldo and Jose Mourinho among other stars.
Teague caught the eye at the FIFA U17 World Cup in Brazil back in 2019 and stated: “I actually got a message on Instagram from someone I didn’t know from GestiFute [Mendes’ agency],
“They were talking about wanting to sign me and offering different opportunities overseas. We went with it and took it.

“They were talking about wanting to sign me and offering different opportunities overseas. We went with it and took it,
“To be able to sit down and talk to him and his family. To see a different side to him. I think everyone sees his football side but we were able to see his normal life.”
Wrexham could reap benefit of Ryan Teague’s unorthodox career
The 23-year-old midfielder moved to Portugal after talks with Mendes and began his career with fifth tier outfit Famalicao, the Australian international believes he learnt a lot from his time in Europe.
Teague explained: “The experiences and things I learnt in Portugal, I don’t know if I would’ve learnt the same here. Different cultures and styles of play. It was very beneficial for my football. Obviously when you think of the Portuguese league you think it’s very technical, which it is.”

Wrexham are looking to add some creativity to their midfield this summer and suffered a blow in their pursuit of Barry Bannan after Sheffield Wednesday were placed under a transfer embargo.
Tom Cairney was offered a contract by Wrexham but wants to stay in the Premier League with Fulham, Teague could be an intriguing option to fill that void at the Racecourse Ground.
