The friendly rivalry between Wrexham and Wycombe Wanderers will take another turn this weekend.
Birmingham City completely dominated League One, winning the title with six games still to play following Wrexham’s 0-0 draw with Wigan Athletic last time out.
As a result, it has become something of a two-horse race for the second and final automatic promotion place, though Charlton Athletic have attempted a very late charge.
Wrexham are battling Wycombe Wanderers, with the two expected to push eachover right until the final day of the season.
The Chairboys looked to have stumbled but managed to close a six-point gap to just one last week, with two wins in a row.
However, it is still Wrexham who are favourites for promotion ahead of Wycombe, being backed to just about take second spot.

Wycombe Wanderers fans send play-off message to Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney
Now though, some Wycombe fans have taken to social media to send the club’s co-owner, Rob McElhenney, a message.
Wrexham, of course, have expanded their audience massively thanks to the success of the ‘Welcome to Wrexham‘ documentary.
And now, the Chairboys’ fans have told McElhenney that competing in the play-offs would actually be better for the documentary.
One fan wrote: “Wrexham going up via the play-offs would be far better viewing for the documentary. I hope my mate @RMcElhenney sees this and takes inspiration.”
To which another replied: “Let’s be honest. The documentary needs a —– season, it’s good for the contrast.”
And another supporter added: “An apt illustration of wishful thinking! Best wishes.”
However, it’s fair to say that the prospect of competing in the play-offs is not something Wrexham fans are looking forward to.

Wrexham fans bemoan play-off record
Wrexham, of course, lost out in the National League play-offs during Rob and Ryan Reynolds’ first full season at the helm.
And throughout their entire history, the Welsh outfit have never won in the competition, an unwanted record spanning over three decades.
One Wrexham fan said on potentially having to battle it out in the League One play-offs: “We have zero hope in play-offs as our record in previous attempts shows. Never been promoted via playoffs.”
A second added: “We don’t go up through playoffs, gone out in them EVERY time, must be 6 or 7 times. still remember the heartbreak down in Leyton Orient in 1989 the first of many.”
“We are not great at play-offs,” a third simply wrote, accompanied by a crying laughing emoji.
