Wrexham are aiming to reinforce their attack in the January transfer window.
So far this season, the Red Dragons’ strikers, barring the currently injured Jack Marriott, have been pretty goal-shy.
Marriott could return early for Wrexham after initially being ruled out for four months in mid-October.
But even when the striker returns, Phil Parkinson may still need further additions to help make up for the lack of goals Paul Mullin, Ollie Palmer, and Modou Faal have scored.
Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds look set to back the manager in January, with a number of centre-forwards already linked to Wales.
TWI confirmed last month that Wrexham want to sign Ethan Wheatley from Manchester United.
The Red Devils youngster is also garnering attention from Stockport County, however, with United still yet to make a decision on the striker’s short-term future.
This week, meanwhile, Wrexham have been linked with Patrick Bamford of Leeds United.

Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds could sign another Leeds player for Wrexham
A Leeds expert provided the lowdown on Bamford, explaining why the forward could be a good fit for Wrexham.
However, while the former Middlesbrough player could well excel in Wales, there’s another Leeds gem McElhenney and Reynolds should be monitoring.
The player in question is Joe Gelhardt, who is nine years younger than Bamford and could have a very bright future at Wrexham.
The 22-year-old joined Leeds in 2020 from Wigan Athletic and has now made 57 appearances for their senior side.
As well as being a lot younger, Gelhardt would likely cost the Wrexham owners a lot less.
The Englishman is earning £15,000-a-week at Elland Road currently, as per Capology, while Bamford is the Whites’ highest-paid player – taking home £70,000-a-week.
Such a salary would completely break Wrexham’s wage structure, with Gelhardt’s weekly fee much more realistic for the club.

How Joe Gelhardt and Patrick Bamford wages compare to Wrexham stars
As Wrexham continue their rise up the EFL ladder, the caliber of player they will need to sign is going to increase, along with their wage bill.
Completely accurate data on the Red Dragons’ wages is not available, but Salary Sport did detail how much each Wrexham player was paid earlier this year.
Somewhat surprisingly, George Evans was the club’s highest-paid star with a weekly salary of £7,200.
Evans was followed in the list by James McClean (£6,100), Steven Fletcher (£5,600) and Andy Cannon (£5,500).
However, it’s worth noting this may have changed after Ollie Palmer and Ryan Barnett both agreed new contracts this season.
