With seven signings already through the door and potentially a couple more to come, you’d be forgiven for thinking Wrexham are done in the transfer market this summer. But there’s one man they should take a look at.
Wrexham needed reinforcements this summer and Phil Parkinson has duly delivered with the signing of players like Josh Windass, Lewis O’Brien and most recently, Conor Coady.
It’s hard to deny that Wrexham’s summer signings have been impressive so far. We expect Kieffer Moore to join next, while Nathan Broadhead may also follow.
One name repeatedly mentioned in the same breath as Wrexham is Christian Eriksen. Parkinson admitted talks took place with Eriksen, but it still looks unlikely that a deal will be completed.

Dele Alli is available on a free and needs one last chance
Fear not, though, Wrexham fans. If Eriksen isn’t going to sign, the Red Dragons should look at rescuing Dele Alli from his latest nightmare and give him one last chance in the English Football League.
Dele spent the backend of last season in Italy with Serie A side Como. Long-standing fitness issues kept the playmaker out of the side for the majority of his time there, with just one appearance lasting nine minutes and seeing the former Spurs man getting a red card.
Unsurprisingly, then, it’s said Dele will be released by Como this summer. It’s even thought the 29-year-old is considering retiring after struggling for years to recapture his best form (or any kind of form, to be honest).
But, let’s not forget this is a player who was once the most electric, exciting, creative young Englishman in the Premier League. He registered 67 goals and 59 assists for Tottenham in 269 games. No matter what has happened, there is still some semblance of a top class player in there.
If no club wants to take a punt on him, that’s fair, and no one would blame Dele for choosing to retire at this point. But, the temptation of one last roll of the dice in the Championship must surely be enticing.

Wrexham can arrange a beneficial deal for Dele Alli
If Wrexham were so keen to sign Christian Eriksen, it tells us three things: They want another creative player, they have money to spend on big wages, and they’re not necessarily deterred by a bad injury record.
Dele would be the ideal wildcard for Parkinson to have in reserve behind the likes of Windass and Elliot Lee. It’s not like Parkinson would need him to play 90 minutes two times a week.
As for the wages issue, there’s every chance that Dele would be more than open to a pay-as-you-play deal. If he’s considering hanging up his boots anyway, he may as well accept some kind of performance-based incentive and push himself to try one more time.
Plus, there’s also the appeal of being part of the Wrexham project. Dele is a huge name who would bring even more attention to the Red Dragons, and if they could be the ones to resurrect his career, it would make an incredible story for the next season of Welcome to Wrexham, wouldn’t it?
