Wrexham are still in the market for new signings, but Phil Parkinson seemingly won’t manage to snap up Christian Eriksen this summer.
Wrexham’s opening Championship game against Southampton is now less than two weeks away.
Phil Parkinson has been a busy man of late, wrapping up four signings in rapid fashion, with Lewis O’Brien the latest Wrexham addition.
Liberato Cacace, George Thomason and Josh Windass also joined Wrexham, with Parkinson adding major quality to his squad.
Wrexham are now chasing Kieffer Moore, and the recruitment drive may not be done there as Parkinson looks to make a big impact in the Championship.

Phil Parkinson on Christian Eriksen
Wrexham have been calculated in the market this summer, adding proven Championship quality alongside a foreign import in Cacace and a rising talent in Thomason.
No huge names have arrived, but that doesn’t mean Wrexham haven’t approached a superstar this summer.
Christian Eriksen’s agent has confirmed an approach from Wrexham, with an audacious move for the Danish playmaker in mind.
Eriksen has left Manchester United on a free transfer this summer, and remains without a club after his Old Trafford exit.
Wrexham offered Eriksen the chance to join the Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds project, but no deal has been secured.
Parkinson has now commented on Wrexham’s interest in Eriksen, telling BBC Sport that there was ‘dialogue’ over a potential move.
Wrexham couldn’t secure Eriksen’s signature, but Parkinson praised him as ‘majorly talented’ and highlighted how well-respected he is in the game.
“There was a call, a bit of dialogue over the summer, but it’s not gone any further than that,” said Parkinson.
“But obviously he’s a majorly talented player and very well respected throughout football,” he added.
Michael Williamson connection may have been Wrexham’s route into Eriksen move
Parkinson has previously taken a ‘no superstars, no egos’ approach to his Wrexham recruitment.
Eriksen is the first major superstar Wrexham have made a serious approach to sign, though ultimately to no avail.
Parkinson would have been confident in Eriksen’s personality and character, believing that he would work hard and take nothing for granted in this Wrexham squad.
It was also interesting to see Eriksen’s agent pick out CEO Michael Williamson as a key draw to Wrexham, rather than Rob McElhenney or Ryan Reynolds.
That’s because Williamson worked at Inter Milan during Eriksen’s time at the club, meaning they may have crossed paths at the San Siro.
Williamson could have vouched for Eriksen’s character, as well as opening the door to talks with the playmaker’s agent.
Parkinson seemingly isn’t still actively chasing Eriksen, but the longer he stays as a free agent, the more appealing Wrexham may yet become to the former Tottenham Hotspur star.
