Wrexham plans for next season are already underway despite sealing a recent promotion.
Wrexham’s owners will meet Phil Parkinson in order to discuss summer transfer plans as the Wrexham squad is bolstered ahead of their first Championship campaign in over 40 years.
A busy summer is expected at the Racecourse Ground with Wrexham told they need six to nine signings in order to compete in the second tier.
Fans have questioned interest in Callum Robinson, amid links with the Cardiff forward following their relegation into League One but Wrexham will need to focus on outgoings too with just 25 squad spaces available.

Wrexham should sell Thomas O’Connor amid previous transfer interest
Outgoings are inevitable this summer at the Red Dragons as Parkinson looks to strengthen his squad to be able to compete at a higher level.
Wrexham have an abundance of centre backs, all of which have performed magnificently this season with their defensive record a real catalyst for promotion.
However, it is one area that could be trimmed in order to free up wages and squad space and Thomas O’Connor should be the player that Wrexham sacrifice.
There was previous Championship interest in O’Connor as per the Coventry Telegraph and the Red Dragons could use that interest to get a good fee for the 26-year-old.
As per The Leader, Parkinson has previously raved about O’Connor’s ‘versatility’ with his ability to play both in defence and midfield, that will be an attractive attribute for any potential suitor.
Wrexham’s current defensive options
With the second best defensive record in the division at just 34 goals conceded it is no surprise Max Cleworth earned praise from his team mates after receiving the club’s young player of the year.
Eoghan O’Connell and Lewis Brunt have also excelled in their centre back roles whilst fans marvelled over Dan Scarr for his cameo run in the team for the final three games of the season.
| Wrexham’s centre back options | Age |
| Max Cleworth | 22 |
| Lewis Brunt | 24 |
| Eoghan O’Connell | 29 |
| Thomas O’Connor | 26 |
| Dan Scarr | 30 |
| Will Boyle | 29 |
Will Boyle is the likeliest candidate to leave the club’s defensive list but with Parkinson also wanting to add Championship quality to his squad, it is probably a defender will also come through the door.
It means that another defender could depart the club and O’Connor could be an attractive sale to the club with previous interest drumming up a substantial transfer fee.
