Wrexham are preparing to face Bristol Rovers in a clash where nothing less than three points will be sufficient.
Things are heating up in the League One promotion race as both Wrexham and Wycombe head into huge fixtures separated by just a point in second and third places respectively.
Phil Parkinson confirmed Modou Faal’s injury ahead of the clash at the Racecourse Ground and it is unlikely the striker will feature again this season.
Eoghan O’Connell has praised Wrexham’s experience in dealing with a promotion run in but up against a Bristol Rovers side that will defend deep and be hard to break down, Parkinson should be turning to one man.

Phil Parkinson should start Elliot Lee in Bristol Rovers clash
With Bristol Rovers fighting for their safety in the division, it is likely they will set their stall out to be hard to beat and try and counter the Red Dragons.
Burton did the same in a recent fixture and despite Wrexham winning the game 3-0, it took an hour and some inspired substitutions for Parkinson’s men to find the break through.
One of those substitutions was Elliot Lee, who replaced George Dobson during that match and Parkinson should consider including him the 30-year-old playmaker from the start against Bristol Rovers.
Matty James and Dobson have been exceptional in recent weeks but are very similar players and Wrexham could do with Lee’s creativity against a low block.
As per BBC Sport, Parkinson is a big fan of the ‘brilliant’ midfielder and he has already come up with seven important league goals this season.
Elliot Lee’s Wrexham career
Since joining from Luton Town in the summer of 2022, Lee has become a fan favourite at the Racecourse Ground and produced in big moments.
He was integral part of the side’s back to back promotions and if given the chance, he would no doubt relish trying to help the club to make it a historic three successive promotions.
| Elliot Lee’s Wrexham career | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Lee | 145 | 38 | 9 |
Parkinson has made an admission on Lee that he should be starting more games for his side and now the manager has the opportunity to do that as Wrexham chase goals and points in the promotion race.
With Wrexham’s goal difference currently three goals inferior to Wycombe’s, the Red Dragons will be seeking an opportunity to improve that in the clash against Matt Taylor’s side.
