Wrexham hero Paul Mullin once again led the line for loan club Wigan Athletic, where he played in a 3-0 win against Doncaster Rovers.
It has been a difficult weekend for Wrexham after their defeat against QPR.
There were expectations that Wrexham would be able to follow up their previous win against Millwall, but it proved to be challenging for the Red Dragons, who, barring a short spell in the second half, were second best across the pitch against QPR.
Wrexham struggled in the final third, with fans noting Ryan Hardie’s difficulties up front, while defensive shortcomings were also frequent, with QPR bagging three goals.
The silver lining to a poor Saturday afternoon from a Wrexham perspective was that Paul Mullin managed a win for Wigan Athletic, where he played a significant role for his loan side.

How Paul Mullin fared in stunning Wigan Athletic win vs Doncaster Rovers
Wigan Athletic won 3-0 against Doncaster Rovers, with Paul Mullin managing 84 minutes up front for the Latics.
The Red Dragons’ legend managed a goal in his previous appearance against Lincoln City, but he was unable to get on the score sheet this afternoon.
Via SofaScore, Mullin only managed one shot throughout the contest, as well as 22 touches and seven completed passes.
Despite losing possession five times, Mullin surprisingly offered a defensive contribution for Wigan Athletic, managing three clearances as they managed a clean sheet against a previously clinical Doncaster Rovers side.

Phil Parkinson will be optimistic after Paul Mullin’s start for Wigan Athletic
It was clear that Paul Mullin would not be part of Phil Parkinson’s plans at Wrexham, which led to his loan being sanctioned.
While it was a challenging start to life at the DW Stadium for Mullin, with Ryan Lowe turning to other strikers to lead the line, it can now confidently be said that the Wrexham man is an important part of the League One team.
If Mullin were to have any future at Wrexham following the 2025/26 season, the forward would have to show goalscoring ability at League One level. With two goals so far, and a number of solid performances, hopefully, he can carry on and prove his worth to Parkinson once again.
