Wrexham host Stockport County at the Racecourse Ground with the rivalry between the two teams having intensified in recent seasons.
Humphrey Ker revealed the ‘needle’ between Wrexham and Stockport having battled for promotion in both the National League and League Two in recent seasons.
Stockport fans taunted Wrexham last season at the Racecourse Ground as they flew banners over the stadium during their match reminding Wrexham who were the title winners that season.
Phil Parkinson has issued a positive fitness update ahead of the game and will need to give his players no extra motivation to get up for this huge encounter. Whether there is a place for Paul Mullin remains to be seen.

Phil Parkinson’s previous comments on Paul Mullin
Speaking on the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary, season 3 episode 8 back in 2024, Parkinson discussed Mullin following his 100th goal for the club in a 2-1 victory at Colchester.
Parkinson stated: “It’s an outstanding achievement to get 100 goals as quickly as he has done. It’s almost like the more importance there is on the game, the more likely you feel he is to score a goal. He thrives on that.”
Mullin has not been part of a Wrexham squad in the last nine League One matches and his last kick for the club was a missed penalty in the EFL Trophy semi final defeat to Peterborough.
The game against Stockport certainly goes down as an ‘important’ one and Parkinson knows that is when his striker usually rises to the occasion.
What Parkinson has said about Mullin’s absence
Parkinson spoke out on the continued absence of Mullin in recent comments and stated that the striker needs to be prepared whenever his opportunity comes.
Parkinson explained: “The lads out of the team like Mulls and Ollie, who have both made significant contributions for us, they’re right with the group training hard every day and waiting for the moment.

“You never know when that moment is going to come, and you’ve got to be prepared for it as Lewis Brunt was at the weekend.”
It would be no surprise if given the opportunity that Mullin makes his mark in such a massive encounter for the Red Dragons, he has produced the goods when needed ever since he arrived in North Wales.
