Wrexham are looking to further strengthen their promotion push as they prepare to host Stockport County in a huge fixture.
Sam Smith’s wonder strike temporarily put Wrexham in the final automatic promotion place in League One before Wycombe beat Rotherham 3-2 to move back above the Red Dragons.
Phil Parkinson’s side now face Stockport at the Racecourse Ground and Wrexham community director Humphrey Ker shared the ‘needle’ that exists between the two clubs.
Stockport stopped Paul Mullin from equalling a record last time they visited North Wales but ultimately walked away with a 2-1 defeat, Wrexham would give anything for a repeat of that score line again.

Phil Parkinson provides fresh Wrexham fitness update
Following the win at Adams Park, Parkinson said four players were carrying ‘knocks’ but it seems that positive news is on the horizon for the Red Dragons.
Speaking to The Leader, Parkinson has provided an update on those injuries and believes everyone will be fit and raring to go thanks to the hard work of the medical team.
Parkinson stated: “We’ve used this week to freshen a few of the lads up, a couple of the lads who have been playing with knocks and Kev and his team have got the lads out on the pitch,
“Now we need to get a few of them ready physically for the weekend but they will be and we’ve got a nice bit of time to get the squad in the best possible position.”
Parkinson set to be faced with continued Paul Mullin selection dilemma
Parkinson explained Mullin’s continued absence from the squad recently and claimed that the striker is working hard in training in order to be ready to play whenever required.
With a number of players carrying knocks it remains to be seen whether the 30-year-old can force his way back into the matchday squad in such a huge fixture for the club.

Mullin has declined in form this season but injuries in the last two pre seasons have not helped the Wrexham striker and the likes of Jack Marriott and Modou Faal appear to have gone ahead in the pecking order.
Wrexham fans however are desperate to see their star man back in the plans and if he does return, nobody would put it past the striker to have a big say on the next game or in the promotion run in.
