Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson will not be too keen to hear the latest update on one of his Red Dragons loanees, whose game time could be significantly hampered this season.

Wrexham have several loanees playing away from the Racecourse Ground following the Red Dragons’ promotion to the Championship.

Amid the jubilation of three successive promotions, with Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson taking the club from the National League to the Championship, it was clear that several players were set to be made surplus to requirements.

The most surprising player departure came early on in the summer, with Paul Mullin leaving Wrexham for Wigan Athletic on loan, and he has already managed to bag two goals for the Ticks.

However, things are not so positive for one youngster, and whilst he has notched vital game time at his new club, that could soon change following one recent transfer.

Mo Faal’s game time could be hampered as Port Vale sign Dajaune Brown

It has been confirmed that League One side Port Vale have signed Dajaune Brown on loan from Derby County.

This could significantly hamper Mo Faal’s game time at Port Vale after he was sent on loan to Darren Moore’s side this summer.

Despite the initial chance of Faal being handed an opportunity to regularly lead the line for his new club after they lost star striker Laurent Tolaj to Plymouth Argyle, they have scampered quickly to find Brown, who has experience in the Championship with Derby County, and may jump ahead of Faal in the pecking order.

Port Vale boss Moore is aware of Faal’s quality, having said: “[He has a] wonderful aerial presence as well as being good on the floor. He’s a real awkward customer to deal with.

“He’s got size, he’s got mobility, he’s an aerial threat, but his feet are really good as well.”

Phil Parkinson should have given Mo Faal a League Two loan

After Port Vale achieved promotion to League One, they were always going to recruit with the desire to strengthen their squad significantly, which has made it difficult for Mo Faal to envisage consistent game time.

As opposed to playing from off the bench in League One for a Port Vale side that have struggled so far in the 2025/26 season, Phil Parkinson may have been better off handing the young striker another chance to shine in League Two, where he would have more guarantees of game time.

If it turns out that Faal’s game time could be limited following the signing of Dajaune Brown, a return to Wrexham should be considered before sending him back out to League Two to re-find his feet.
