Paul Mullin has been one of the most important figures in the Wrexham journey from the National League to the Championship.

He was the first marquee signing that the club made when Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac took ownership of the team four years ago and he has become one of the most recognisable figures.

The 30-year-old has also seen his celebrity increase since joining the club, even making a cameo appearance in Deadpool and Wolverine.

However, first and foremost, he is a footballer, and his minutes under Phil Parkinson had decreased in League One, and ahead of the campaign in the second tier, he was loaned to Wigan Athletic.

Now, Mullin has made comments which may indicate where his future in football lies.

Paul Mullin is ‘loving life’ at Wigan Athletic

Paul Mullin is currently injured after making a fine start to life at Wigan Athletic, as he has scored four goals in his 13 appearances for the Latics.

The Greater Manchester club have been struggling recently in both League One and the EFL Cup, which led Mullin to send a defiant message about this poor form.

Now, the striker has spoken to Wigan Today about life at the 2013 FA Cup winners; he said: “I’m absolutely loving being here.

“After a successful few years, I came here wanting to play more football.

“The manager has been absolutely fantastic, giving me a lot. He’s refreshed me in many ways – the work he does on the training pitch, the hard work he puts in, and the help he’s given me have been fantastic.

“The group I’ve come into – every player has been brilliant. We’re all working towards a common goal, and we’ve got togetherness. Setbacks happen in football, but it’s about responding right after the last week.

“I’m loving life here and really enjoying playing on the pitch.”

Wigan Athletic’s manager is a huge fan of Paul Mullin

It is easy to see the impact of the striker on the pitch for Wigan Athletic with his goal contributions; however, Ryan Lowe is a fan of Mullin’s impact both on and off the pitch.

The Latics manager believes that the experience of the Wrexham loanee has had a significant positive impact on the club as they look to begin their journey back to the Championship.

There is now a legitimate question on whether Mullin will want to move to Wigan permanently under Lowe due to his love of the club and for the area, while the manager would no doubt want to add the striker to his side long-term due to the impact he has had in such a short period.
