Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are expected to break Wrexham’s transfer record once again, this time for a striker.
It was confirmed on July 18 that Wrexham had broken their transfer record for Liberato Cacace.
The left-back signed for an initial fee of around £2.2m – £200,000 more than Sam Smith – but his transfer fee could rise as high as £4m.
Cacace was the Red Dragons’ new record deal for less than a week, however.
Lewis O’Brien has joined Wrexham from Nottingham Forest, in what has been described as the biggest deal in the club’s history.
But Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac are not expected to stop there, with it claimed that Wrexham will spend £10m on a new striker this summer, and there’s one player they should be eyeing.

Wrexham need to explore European market for new striker
Wrexham have completed six signings so far this summer, including one centre-forward – Ryan Hardie.

Josh Windass can play in an advanced role as well, but giving Phil Parkinson £10m to spend on a new number nine does make it clear the club still feel they need more firepower.
A lack of goals from their strikers was a real problem in 2024/25 and led to Smith and Jay Rodriguez signing in January.
However, Wrexham look set to address their goalscoring issues before the new season has even begun.
While £10m is a good amount of money, the cost of players in England is vastly inflated, and they probably won’t get a high-scoring attacker for that fee.
For example, Championship rivals Middlesbrough sold their top scorer Emmanuel Latte Lath for £22.5m in January.
So, it would make sense for Parkinson and Co. to explore the European market, namely divisions outside of the traditional top five.
Transfer fees are heavily reduced in these leagues and could see Wrexham land themselves a bargain.
On that front, the Hollywood-backed club should take a close look at Patrik Mijic.

Wrexham should look at Patrik Mijic
Mijic is 26 years of age, so unlike several of the club’s long-term striking options, he is only just entering his prime years.
He is currently on the books of TSV Hartberg in the Austrian Bundesliga, whom he signed for in 2024.
During his 12 months with Hartberg, Mijic has been prolific, scoring 18 goals and providing seven assists in 39 matches across all competitions.
He stands at just over 6ft tall, so he will suit Wrexham’s style of whipping balls into the box for their strikers to get on the end of.
The Croatian is a fairly unknown talent in Europe, but if Parkinson wants to get himself a top goalscorer within his budget, the Dragons may well need to take a slight risk on a player not proven in England or in one of Europe’s other top divisions.
