Wrexham will no doubt be adding extra firepower to their ranks ahead of the next Championship season, with three potential free agents likely to be touted as targets.
Wrexham have confirmed their promotion to the Championship, a feat that means that they have achieved three successive promotions from the National League to the second tier.
Phil Parkinson has received praise from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney following the win against Charlton Athletic that saw them clinch promotion at the Racecourse Ground, and it is all justified when considering the impeccable part he has played in the club’s upward trajectory.
Whilst the celebrations amongst fans will continue for weeks to come, Wrexham boss Parkinson won’t have time to waste as he plans for the upcoming 2025/26 Championship season, which will likely involve bringing some more players into the fold. Here are three that Wrexham could potentially target for next season…

Wrexham could make move for soon-to-be free agent Ben Davies
Parkinson has stated that he is not likely to sign ‘big egos’ ahead of next season, a statement that potentially puts to rest any rumours of Wrexham signing Jamie Vardy, but there is no doubt that the Welsh club will still find themselves sniffing around the Premier League for out of contract players.
One man they could target is Tottenham Hotspur full-back Ben Davies, who easily could be lured to the Racecourse if a lucrative deal swung his way.
With 93 Welsh caps to his name, as well as 309 appearances in the Premier League for both Swansea City and (predominantly) Tottenham, he would arrive with bags of experience that would help Wrexham settle into the Championship.
It would be a massively ambitious move to go for the 32-year-old Davies, but Wrexham have proven previously that they can punch above their weight when it comes to making big transfers.

Phil Parkinson could bolster midfield with handy Championship man
Another player that Wrexham could potentially target ahead of the Championship campaign is John Swift, who is nearing the end of his contract at West Brom. He has tallied 335 games in the Championship for both Reading, West Brom, and Brentford, and he may be looking for his next club at this level as his Baggies contract comes towards its conclusion.
It has been a difficult season for Swift at West Brom, playing more of a minor role this season under Tony Mowbray, who often used him as a back-up midfielder.
When it comes to adding experience to the midfield, Swift would be a fine addition for Wrexham.

Former England international could be on Phil Parkinson’s radar
Another 32-year-old looking set to be a free agent this summer is West Ham striker Danny Ings, a former England international who has notched three caps and one goal for his nation.
Ings’ role has been limited this season, having notched just one start for a struggling West Ham side.
Whilst Ings looks to be past his peak, he still no doubt will have a goalscoring presence at Championship level, and would fit a similar mould to the strikers that Wrexham have signed previously.
