Wrexham could reignite their interest in a former Swansea City star and bring him to the Racecourse Ground alongside Lewis O’Brien.

Following their promotion to the Championship, Wrexham are set to face off against Swansea City in the upcoming campaign.

It will be the first time that the two Welsh clubs have played each other since 2003, and much expectation will be on Wrexham and Phil Parkinson to see off Swansea City in the upcoming two meetings this season.

Wrexham have not lost to the Swans in the last nine meetings, seven of which saw the Red Dragons notch a win. That makes it an astonishing 32 years since Swansea City beat Wrexham.

On top of that, Wrexham have already beaten Swansea to the signing of Lewis O’Brien, and they could bring in yet another former Swans player this summer.

Wrexham could reignite interest in former Swansea City man Myles Peart-Harris

Earlier this summer, Wrexham were showing an interest in signing Brentford midfielder Myles Peart-Harris. The 22-year-old former Chelsea man already has a familiarity with Wales, having played for Swansea City on loan last season, where he notched seven goal contributions in 29 Championship matches.

Phil Parkinson had reportedly identified the youngster as an option to add to his ranks ahead of the 2025/26 Championship season.

Peart-Harris has just one year remaining on his Brentford contract, but the Bees can extend his deal by another year. Wrexham could offer Peart-Harris, who previously joined Brentford for £1.4m, a permanent home with a chance to play regularly for Parkinson’s side.

Wrexham’s ambition has already overshadowed Swansea City

Whether Wrexham return with their interest for Myles Peart-Harris or not, many can confidently say that the Red Dragons have shown far more ambition this summer than their Welsh counterparts.

Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac have handed Phil Parkinson a sizeable budget to give Wrexham the facilities to prepare brilliantly for the upcoming Championship season.

The aspirations for the club clearly lie within becoming a Championship powerhouse; however, some fans will be keen to become the biggest club in Wales. By the way that the summer transfer window is going, Wrexham are certainly on their way to giving the Swans a run for their money this season.
