Wrexham signed 13 players over the summer transfer window, with one addition coming in for high praise this week.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac allowed the Dragons to break their transfer record on numerous occasions over the summer.
Nathan Broadhead scored his first Wrexham goals on Tuesday following his club-record £7.5m move from Ipswich Town.
In total, there was a £33m transfer spend at the Racecourse Ground in the most recent window.
However, one player who didn’t cost Wrexham anything in terms of a fee has now come in for high praise following his brilliant start.

Wrexham star Josh Windass ‘probably worth £10m’
Josh Windass joined Wrexham from Sheffield Wednesday on a free after his contract with the Owls was terminated.
The attacking midfielder scored on his debut in a 2-1 loss to Southampton before picking up an injury in the following league game versus West Brom.
However, he returned to action last weekend in the 3-2 victory over Norwich City.
Windass was praised heavily after he scored twice in the win, and journalist Nathan Salt has now shared his thoughts on the ex-Owl, suggesting he is one of the best Championship signings this season and that he is ‘probably worth £10m’.
He said: “Josh Windass, though, to get him on a free, that will be easily one of the best signings anyone makes in the Championship all season.
“You get a player that is probably worth 10 million quid on a free, a goal-scoring midfielder the de facto 10. He is in a position that he wants to be, he wants to be off the forward and not having to be the one who’s back to goal and everything bouncing off him.
“He can operate in those pockets. And like you see, he can drift out wide, come back in on his right foot and curl it in the top corner as he did against Norwich.”

Shaun Harvey and Phil Parkinson need credit for Josh Windass signing
Wrexham have spent a lot of money in 2025, but there is a case to be made that Windass is their best signing, and he didn’t cost a penny.
Parkinson is the primary driver in the club’s transfer strategy, and his decision to try and land the midfielder was inspired.
Creativity was a weak point for Wrexham in 2024/25, but that will no longer be the case as long as Windass is fit.
He is not the first former Owl Parkinson wanted at the Racecourse Ground, with Shaun Harvey travelling to Sheffield Wednesday to try and get a deal for Michael Smith done last season.
That did not happen, but Harvey and co. managed to agree a deal for Windass, who, though not confirmed, likely had plenty of suitors this summer after becoming a free agent, and for that, he needs a lot of credit as well.
