Wrexham are looking for new signings during the January transfer window but one target may no longer be available.
2025 has begun and Wrexham have started with a defeat and a victory.
The 2-1 loss at Barnsley on New Year’s Day was a real disappointment but Wrexham hit back on Saturday afternoon.
Wrexham beat Peterborough United 1-0 at the STōK Cae Ras with Steven Fletcher scoring yet another late goal.
Fletcher has praised Wrexham’s unbelievable spirit to keep scoring late on and securing big results right at the death.
Phil Parkinson’s sensational home record was given another boost with Wrexham sitting third in the League One table.

Wrexham target may not move on in January
Wrexham will be looking for new signings this month with Parkinson no doubt keen to bolster his squad.
Another striker is a top target for Wrexham but signings will be eyed in other areas too.
Wrexham have been exploring the goalkeeping market in recent weeks and one target looked set to sign.
Hull City’s Thimothee Lo-Tutala has been eyed by Wrexham and was seemingly close to arriving.
Lo-Tutala attended Wrexham’s EFL Trophy clash with Crewe Alexandra in December and was ready to join on an emergency loan.
Parkinson battled the EFL over those transfer hopes but was told he couldn’t sign an emergency loan despite injuries to Arthur Okonkwo and Callum Burton.
Hull were happy to let Lo-Tutala go at that point but whilst Wrexham weigh up whether ot still sign another goalkeeper, Lo-Tutala’s situation may have changed.
The 21-year-old was named on the bench as Hull drew 3-3 with Leeds United on Saturday.
The Hull Daily Mail report that Hull are considering offloading goalkeeper Anthony Racioppi, who only joined over the summer.
TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook also claims that goalkeeper Carl Rushworth may be recalled by Brighton and Hove Albion with his Hull loan spell not really going to plan.
That means Lo-Tutala suddenly finds himself second choice under Ruben Selles and needed as cover for Ivor Pandur.
Hull may well bring in another stopper if Racioppi and Rushworth go, but it currently looks like Lo-Tutala is no longer available as things stand.
Do Wrexham still need another goalkeeper?
Wrexham will certainly be aware of Lo-Tutala’s spot on the bench against Leeds and that may have ruled out any early January move.
This does raise the question – do Wrexham still need another stopper?
Arthur Okonkwo is back from injury whilst Mark Howard played well in his run in the team.
Wrexham fans were impressed with Brad Foster when he feature against Crewe and he may yet earn a contract extension.
Callum Burton could miss the rest of the season though and we still think a loan for a goalkeeper between Okonkwo and Howard.
Lo-Tutala may well have been ideal for that role having impressed on loan at Doncaster Rovers last season but Wrexham are now left waiting to hear whether he is still a possible signing this month.
If not, Wrexham would be wise to consider alternative targets just to avoid a potential goalkeeping issue again down the line.
