Wrexham have now officially missed out on one of their 2025 summer transfer targets, as confirmed by a European club.
Ryan Hardie became the Red Dragons’ first signing of the summer transfer window, being announced the same day the summer window officially opened for Phil Parkinson’s side.
Danny Ward is undergoing a medical with Wrexham as well, and he’s now expected to be confirmed as a new arrival this week.
However, not every bit of transfer business the club have tried to conduct this summer has been successful.
Tom Cairney will snub Wrexham after interest and is now expected to sign an extension with Fulham.
Meanwhile, another target of the Welsh outfit has now officially joined another club this summer.

Wrexham miss out on Ryan Teague
Reports last month emerged that claimed Wrexham were eyeing Ryan Teague of Melbourne Victory.
Belgian clubs Gent and KV Mechelen were also linked with a move for the player at the time.
Reports in the last 24 hours, meanwhile, suggested that Wrexham would miss out on Teague to Mechelen, who he was having a medical with.
Now, the Belgian team have confirmed the transfer and, pretty interestingly, named Wrexham in their announcement, via their official website.
They stated: “Ryan Teague (23) is the newest player of KV Mechelen. The Australian, who was also of interest to AA Gent and the British Wrexham, signs a 3-year contract with an option for an extra year. “We convinced Ryan with our project”, says Sporting Director Tom Caluwe.”
Adding to why Teague has signed, club chief Caluwe said: “It took a bit longer than expected. I am happy that we can finally announce Ryan. It was a feat to get him here. Finding a good flight was already a task. In the end, due to circumstances, he was even on the road for more than 40 hours.”
“Ryan Teague has ambition, just like us. He was very charmed by the project we presented to him. I am sincerely happy that we can add him to our core. He has a very nice profile and potential to grow together with our club.”

Wrexham targeting midfielders
While a move for Teague is now off the cards, the Red Dragons are still being linked with plenty more midfielders.
Former Rangers player Tom Lawrence is wanted by Wrexham after becoming a free agent on July 1.
Barry Bannan is of interest with his Sheffield Wednesday future now uncertain amid the Owls’ ongoing financial problems.
As we first reported, Wrexham are interested in Lewis Travis of Blackburn Rovers as well.
