Wrexham have completed a brilliant signing this summer, according to one EFL pundit.

In total, Wrexham signed 13 players during the most recent transfer window, which slammed shut on September 1.

Nearly £33m was spent by the Red Dragons, with their transfer record being broken on several occasions.

Nathan Broadhead is Wrexham’s record signing now following his £7.5m (rising to £10m) move from Ipswich Town.

Kieffer Moore has shone since his arrival as well, scoring four goals this season already.

But one recent signing could prove to be brilliant despite going under the radar.

Issa Kabore to Wrexham is ‘brilliant’

Wrexham signed three players on deadline day, one of those being Issa Kabore.

Kabore joined from Manchester City on a season-long loan deal and is expected to compete in the right-wing-back spot.

Now, EFL pundit Ryan Dilks has offered his verdict on the Man City defender when discussing Wrexham’s transfer business on the Second Tier podcast.

When doing so, he labelled his addition ‘brilliant’ and suggested it is a move that goes under the radar.

Dilks said: “Completely agree with what you say about Dom Hyam, very solid defender, one of the most consistent there is at this level. Slightly concerned about departures from Blackburn, but we’ll save that for Sunday. But I also think the Kabore signing could be a brilliant move that really goes under the radar for a lot of people.

“He played a lot of games for Luton in the Premier League, caught the eye with them, and then last season he went on loan to Benfica and Werder Bremen. Didn’t play much for either of them, but the fact that two big clubs at European level deemed him good enough when they got him in that shouldn’t be disregarded.”

Issa Kabore stats

As mentioned above, Kabore has already enjoyed a number of stints across Europe during his career.

The defender signed for Manchester City in 2020 but has been loaned out on numerous occasions by the Sky Blues.

In total, Kabore has made 137 appearances, scored one goal and provided 13 assists during his career.

The 24-year-old is a natural right-back but has played four matches at centre-back previously.

Kabore will likely compete against Ryan Barnett and Ryan Longman for a starting berth at Wrexham.
