A manager has now spoken out about signing a Wrexham player during the remainder of the transfer window.

The deadline for the window this year is 7pm BST on Monday, September 1.

More players are expected to leave Wrexham during the remainder of the window after a wave of exits have already taken place.

Previously key stars like Steven Fletcher, Paul Mullin and Mark Howard have all been moved on.

Meanwhile, it is now expected that Ollie Palmer will sign for Swindon Town this week.

But another player being linked with an exit has now been commented on by an EFL manager.

Will Dan Scarr leave Wrexham

Wrexham signed Dan Scarr from Plymouth Argyle during the 2024 summer transfer window.

The centre-back has been in and out of the team over the last 12 months, but has impressed at times.

Club legend Andy Morrell called Scarr ‘insanely good’ following a performance during the 2024/25 season.

Now, after just a year with the Dragons, there are rumours emerging that the stopper could leave.

Former Manchester United ace Tom Cleverley, who has taken over as Plymouth boss this season, has been asked about potentially bringing Scarr back to his former club.

But the ex-midfielder ruled any deal out, as per Plymouth Live. He said on rumours of a Scarr return: “That one has got no legs.

“We have strengthened the centre-back area with two players coming in last week so there will be no more in that position.”

As mentioned, the 30-year-old was in and out of the eleven last season.

He played a key role in their promotion run-in, featuring in the final four matches of the campaign.

In 2025/26, Scarr is yet to line up in the Championship but has played in both of Wrexham’s Carabao Cup triumphs.

All told, the centre-back has made 22 appearances and provided two assists in all competitions.
