Wrexham need three points from their trip to Blackpool in order to keep their automatic promotion ambitions on track.
Phil Parkinson has highlighted Wrexham’s away form as a key area that has kept them in the League One promotion hunt and they will need to continue that form at Bloomfield Road.
Matty James is using his past experience to help lead the club through the end of season run in and scored a crucial equaliser in the draw with Bristol Rovers at the Racecourse Ground.
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are hoping to continue Wrexham’s incredible rise and links with Jamie Vardy have already arisen should they make it to the Championship. Gary Neville has given his view on Vardy’s future.

Gary Neville verdict on Jamie Vardy future
James hailed Vardy during the time the duo spent at Leicester and with his Championship experience, the striker would be an excellent addition for the Red Dragons.
Speaking on the ‘Gary Neville Podcast’, the pundit has given his thoughts regarding Vardy’s next move following his side’s relegation from the Premier League.
Neville stated: “Look, if his body feels good then it’ll come down to how he feels. These lads are so fit. He’s obviously lost a yard [of pace], but I think there are opportunities that exist now in America or in other parts of the world where you can go and play and you can enjoy yourself.”
“He knows how to work in the box in short spaces now – he’s got better at that during his career. There may be a position for him for 25 to 30 games next season. He still could be someone [who is] important for them in getting maybe 10 or 15 goals in the Championship.”
Wrexham are expected to strengthen their squad heavily once again in the summer transfer window and should they achieve promotion, they would be able to attract a higher calibre of player to North Wales.
Wrexham need to sell strikers
If Vardy did arrive, Parkinson would have a bloated squad in terms of the forwards options. Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer are expected to leave following their recent absence from matchday squads.
That would still leave six strikers on the books at the club and with Steven Fletcher’s contract situation still not sorted, the club has decisions to make in the summer.
| Wrexham’s current strikers | Appearances this season |
| Sam Smith | 16 |
| Jay Rodriguez | 16 |
| Steven Fletcher | 40 |
| Jack Marriott | 27 |
| Modou Faal | 16 |
| Ollie Palmer | 31 |
| Paul Mullin | 32 |
Faal could be loaned out in order to gain some first team experience but Jack Marriott has recently signed a new contract at the club until June 2026.
The remaining three games of the season will determine so much more than just what division the club is in next campaign, it could decide the futures of a lot of the current squad.
