A fresh update on the future of Ollie Palmer’s stint at Wrexham has now emerged on deadline day.
Ollie Palmer made the move to Wrexham in 2022 and has gone on to be one of the most crucial players in the club’s history.
Forming an excellent partnership with Paul Mullin, the Englishman played a key role in the Red Dragons ending a 15-year stint in the National League and climbing up to League One.
However, his form in the 2024/25 season has been poor, finding the back of the net just three times in the league.
This led to Phil Parkinson eyeing striking reinforcements in the January transfer window, two of which have now arrived.
Sam Smith signed from Reading and, in a major coup, Jay Rodriguez dropped down to the third tier from promotion-chasing Burnley.

How Ollie Palmer feels about staying at Wrexham
After the additions of Smith and Rodriguez, it emerged last week that clubs have asked about signing Palmer from Wrexham.
With seven centre-forwards now at the Racecourse Ground, it seemed obvious at least one or two of their current options would depart.
However, it then emerged on Monday that Bristol Rovers looked at Palmer but that deal ‘won’t be happening’.
Now, a further update has been provided by BBC journalist Dafydd Pritchard, who wrote on X/Twitter that the striker ‘wants to stay and fight for his place.’

What Ollie Palmer has said about Wrexham future
If the report is true that the centre-forward wants to stay at the Racecourse and fight for his place, it is pretty admirable but not surprising.
Palmer spoke about his Wrexham future in May 2024 and claimed he would like to finish his career at the club.
He said: “I will speak the truth, complete facts, because that’s how I always answer my questions. I’d love to play for Wrexham until the end of my career, that would be my ultimate goal.”
That’s not always going to happen, especially at a team with ambitions as high as the Red Dragons, but it appears the forward will be sticking around for a few more months, at least.
His current contract, which was signed earlier this season, keeps him at Wrexham until 2026.
