Wrexham are close to completing the signing of Josh Windass, with the free agent poised to finalise his move to the STōK Cae Ras.
Transfers have been the last thing on Phil Parkinson’s mind after the passing of Joey Jones.
Everybody connected to Wrexham has been in mourning this Tuesday, with club legend Jones passing away at the age of 70.
Rob McElhenney has paid tribute to Jones, with Wrexham now preparing to place a statue of the former defender outside the STōK Cae Ras.
Wrexham may have even delayed announcing a new signing out of respect for Jones and his family, with Tuesday hardly the day for celebrating new signings.

Josh Windass to land three-year Wrexham deal
Wrexham announced the signing of George Thomason on Monday, with the Bolton Wanderers midfielder arriving in a £1.2million move.
Another deal is all but done, but we would completely understand if Wrexham delayed confirmation to instead focus on paying respect to Jones.
Reports on Sunday suggested that Josh Windass was set to join Wrexham, despite late competition from Coventry City and Norwich City.
Windass recently left Sheffield Wednesday, and Wrexham have wasted no time in making a move for the experienced forward.
Reporter Ben Jacobs now claims that Windass has passed his medical and is signing a three-year contract with Wrexham.
The deal should be announced in the coming days, with Wrexham landing another goalscoring threat, having already signed Ryan Hardie earlier this summer.
Josh Windass in focus ahead of Wrexham move
Windass is the son of former Premier League striker Dean Windass, but has certainly been making a name for himself.
A former Huddersfield Town youth product, Windass made waves at Accrington Stanley, bagging 23 goals in 86 games.
Rangers pounced to sign Windass in 2016, and he exploded in his second season at Ibrox with 18 goals in all competitions.
Windass quit for a move to Wigan Athletic in 2018, but spent just 18 months with the club before a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday, which was turned permanent.
Windass has now played more than 170 times for Wednesday, bagging 50 goals – including 13 this past season.
The 31-year-old has proven himself at Championship level, and his versatility in attack will be hugely useful for Parkinson.
Windass has played up front, out wide or behind the striker, so Parkinson will have plenty of plans in mind for how to get the best out of the Hull-born forward this season and beyond.
