Lewis O’Brien has become Wrexham’s latest signing after finalising a move from Nottingham Forest on Thursday evening.
Phil Parkinson said he was working on signings during Wrexham’s tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Nobody could have expected four signings to have been completed in such rapid fashion, though.
Liberato Cacace on Friday, George Thomason on Monday and Josh Windass on Wednesday had given Wrexham a hat-trick of signings in the space of a few days.
Reports on Wednesday evening suggested that a fourth signing was in the pipeline, with Wrexham closing in on Lewis O’Brien.
Sure enough, Wrexham have now signed O’Brien on a three-year deal, making it four signings in less than a week.

Lewis O’Brien shares message after Wrexham transfer
This is an exciting move for Wrexham and a major signal of intent.
O’Brien is a proven Championship player across spells with Huddersfield Town, Middlesbrough and Swansea City, and will slot straight into Parkinson’s engine room.
Wrexham allegedly agreed a £5million fee for O’Brien earlier in June, but the move was held up over wages.
Wrexham have now struck a deal, and while no fee has been revealed just yet, this is likely to be another club-record signing.
O’Brien has now taken to social media to post just two words on his Instagram story – ‘new chapter’.
This move will mean a lot to O’Brien, who joined Forest from Huddersfield in 2022, but has spent most of his career there out on loan.
O’Brien first headed to D.C. United, before further loans with Middlesbrough, LAFC and Swansea.
Now, finally securing a permanent home once again, O’Brien will be keen to settle down quickly and make a big impact in a Wrexham shirt.
LAFC show support for Lewis O’Brien
O’Brien previously played for LAFC and made an impact in Major League Soccer.
A £7million permanent move fell through, allowing O’Brien to join Swansea City in January of this year.
Wrexham have now pounced, but LAFC have shown their support for O’Brien on Instagram.
O’Brien posted ‘Delighted to sign for Wrexham, can’t wait to get going’, with LAFC adding two clapping emojis to applaud his switch.
Former Forest teammates Omar Richards and Josh Bowler added their support, with O’Brien seemingly popular with the players and clubs from his past.
