After months of speculation and negotiations over the last week, Wrexham have now officially announced Josh Windass as their latest summer signing.
Amid the chaos at Sheffield Wednesday, long-term Wrexham target Josh Windass was able to free himself from his contract and find a new club.
Just days later, it emerged Windass would undergo a medical at Wrexham on Monday 21st July. The belief at the time was that personal terms had already been agreed.
Now, everything has gone to plan and Windass is to be unveiled as the latest Wrexham signing this summer.

Josh Windass becomes latest Wrexham signing
Reports over the weekend suggested Wrexham were poised to beat Championship rivals Norwich City and Coventry City to the signing of Windass, and they have now prevailed.
The signing was confirmed on Wednesday evening via the club’s official website.
Upon signing, Windass said: “I’m looking forward to getting going. I’ve spoken to the manager, who has shown me his plans for the season and what he expects from the group, and I’ve really bought into that.
“I’d describe myself as honest and hard-working, I like to contribute goals and assists from midfield and that’s what I’m looking to bring to Wrexham.
“First and foremost, I want to get into the team and earn the respect of my team-mates – I want to be professional, be someone to look up to and then get the team as high up the league as possible.”
Phil Parkinson was clearly happy with the arrival, adding: “I’m delighted to welcome Josh to the club. He’s a player with a lot of Championship experience and I’m looking forward to working with him over the coming seasons.”

Josh Windass is the perfect fit for Wrexham
It’s no surprise Windass chose Wrexham, really. In many ways, Windass is the perfect Wrexham signing, and he’s sure to absolutely love it at the Racecourse Ground this season.
Not only is Windass a big personality who’ll fit right in with the so-called ‘circus’ at Wrexham, but he’s also exactly the kind of experienced, creative outlet the Red Dragons need on the pitch, too.
We know Phil Parkinson will love Windass for his mentality; he understands the weight of expectations and is a player that has always been driven to succeed.
If he can produce big moments like that winning goal at Wembley again, the Wrexham fans will very quickly fall in love with Windass.
