Wrexham are still alive in the EFL Cup and the same goes for their business in this summer’s transfer market.
Despite already adding eight new signings this window, Phil Parkinson is looking to make further additions to his squad.
Wrexham are still ‘pushing’ to sign Nathan Broadhead from Ipswich Town, however, his current club want to secure a replacement first.
Broadhead is not the only player that Wrexham are targeting before the window slams shut on September 1st but EFL pundit Lee Hendrie has seemingly ruled out one potential target.

Wrexham unlikely to sign Jack Robinson according to Lee Hendrie
Speaking to Football League World, Hendrie has claimed that he would be surprised if Sheffield United allowed defender Jack Robinson to depart the club for Wrexham.
Wrexham are not ruling out a move for Robinson after showing an interest in the 31-year-old but Hendrie believes Sheffield United do not have the cover to allow him to leave.
Hendrie stated: “I know Jack Robinson didn’t start on the weekend, came on as a sub, but I’m not sure this will happen.
“Having watched the Blades over the weekend, seeing their vulnerability defensively and knowing that they’ve got lots of attacking threat, I’d be very surprised.
“With how good he is, his experienced nature, his leadership, I can’t see this happening. I think if Sheffield United did allow this to happen then I’d see this as a real negative step for them and a positive one for Wrexham.
“They’ve [Sheffield United] lost Ahmedhodzic, who was a big player for them, and if they let Jack Robinson go at this crucial time when they really showed that they weren’t good enough, then the alarm bells would be going off.”
The Red Dragons have already bolstered defensive options with the signings of Conor Coady and Liberato Cacace, but it appears that Parkinson wants a further addition.
Jack Robinson’s Championship record
It is easy to see why Parkinson wants to sign a player of Robinson’s experience in the Championship and the defender has also featured in the Premier League in recent seasons.
Robinson is mainly a left back but has featured at centre back during his career, meaning he would be excellent competition for Lewis Brunt on the left of a back three.
| Jack Robinson’s Championship record | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Robinson | 259 | 10 | 12 |
Wrexham defended heroically in their opening day defeat to Southampton and just ran out of steam in the crucial final few moments of the game.
Chris Wilder described Robinson as a ‘born leader’ and his experience would be invaluable to Parkinson in future scenarios such as the one encountered at St Mary’s Stadium.
