Wrexham have completed the worst deal of any club during the 2025 summer transfer window, one agent has decided.
The Red Dragons had a very productive summer window, signing a staggering 13 new players.
Wrexham spent £33m on new stars as they aimed to build a team capable of competing in the Championship.
- Ryan Hardie (£700,000)
- Danny Ward (Free)
- Liberato Cacace (£2.16m)
- George Thomason (£1.2m)
- Josh Windass (Free)
- Lewis O’Brien (£3m)
- Conor Coady (£2m)
- Kieffer Moore (£2m)
- Nathan Broadhead (£7.5m)
- Callum Doyle (£5m)
- Ben Sheaf (£6.5m)
- Issa Kabore (Loan)
- Dom Hyam (£2.7m)
As has often been the case under Phil Parkinson, a number of experienced stars who have competed at a higher level were brought in.
One of those was Conor Coady, and one agent has now criticised that deal.

Conor Coady to Wrexham voted the worst transfer by agent
Wrexham signed Coady from Leicester City for a fee of around £2m.
The centre-back endured a difficult 2024/25 with the Foxes, suffering relegation from the Premier League.
But he is a former England international and had shone in the top-flight previously with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, The Athletic have now spoken to 20 agents and asked them to vote on the worst deals of the 2025 summer transfer window.
Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United was dubbed the worst overall, receiving six votes, while James Trafford to Manchester City garnered three votes.
Meanwhile, one unnamed agent voted Coady’s transfer to Wrexham as the worst deal done this summer.

Phil Parkinson on dropping Conor Coady at Wrexham
Coady began the season as a key figure in Wrexham’s backline, starting their opening five Championship matches.
However, following a 3-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers, he lost his place in the eleven and has not made an appearance in any competition since.
Phil Parkinson commented on dropping Coady earlier this month. He said: “I just went with Scarry at the weekend.
“I thought Scarry did really well against Reading on Tuesday and it’s tough if you’re just playing a team who’s got a clean sheet but Conor understood that.”
