Wrexham have confirmed the exit of one more player following four stars already departing during the winter transfer window.

The Red Dragons made three additions to their squad in the 2025 January window, signing Sam Smith, Jay Rodriguez, and Ryan Longman.

All three should help Wrexham achieve their goal of booking their place in the Championship for the forthcoming campaign.

As well as incomings, four players departed the Racecourse Ground during the winter window, with a fifth since joining them.

Wrexham let Anthony Forde leave permanently on February 3rd after he’d previously missed out on their 22-man squad in the first half of the season.

A few days prior, Rob McElhenney sent a message to James Jones after he left to link up with former player Jon Dadi Bodvarsson at Burton Albion.

Jake Bickerstaff and Billy Waters also secured loan and permanent departures from Wales early in January.

Wrexham confirm Aaron James transfer

Now, on the afternoon of February 4th, another player has left the Welsh outfit on a temporary basis.

Wrexham confirmed that centre-back Aaron James has now joined Warrington Town on loan for the remainder of 2024/25.

Warrington are currently plying their trade in the National League North and James should see plenty of playing time there.

On his exit, Phil Parkinson said: “Aaron has done well when he’s played in the first team and we felt the time was right for him to get sustained first-team action at Warrington Town.”

Aaron James has bright Wrexham future

Parkinson called James ‘immense’ when discussing the stopper following his showing in an EFL Trophy meeting with Port Vale in November.

The 19-year-old has made three senior appearances for the Red Dragons this term, all of which have come in said cup competition.

He scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win over Crewe Alexandra and has looked sharp every time he has taken to the pitch.

But with at least five centre-backs already ahead of him in the pecking order currently, it made sense for Wrexham to sanction a loan.

From what we have seen so far though, it looks like James will have a very bright future at the Racecourse.
