Wrexham had a hectic January transfer window and now the dust has settled, we have taken a look at some of the biggest talking points.
It was a busy month and a bit at the Racecourse Ground but with deadline day now over, Wrexham fans should be pretty pleased with how their club conducted their business.
Granted, the attacking additions came a little later in the window than some may have hoped, but Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds once again got their wallets out and backed Phil Parkinson well.
All told, three new additions arrived in Wales while a number of players were allowed to leave the club, either on permanent transfers or loans.
Here are four things we learned from Wrexham’s 2025 winter transfer window.

Paul Mullin has new Wrexham role
One of the main talking points during the first half of 2024/25 was the form of Paul Mullin.
He was once the club’s best player but his form, along with Ollie Palmer, saw Wrexham forced into the market to sign two new strikers.
Mullin received transfer interest after the additions of Sam Smith and Jay Rodriguez but has remained at the Racecourse past the deadline.
Late on Monday evening, the Wrexham striker joked about staying on his Instagram story and while the 30-year-old not leaving will please fans, he does look set for a new role going forward.
Mullin is currently injured but when he does return, he now seems to be, at best, a fifth-choice centre-forward option.
Smith and Rodriguez are expected to be Parkinson’s starting duo, while Jack Marriott and Steven Fletcher are the obvious backups.
In turn, we are likely to see a lot less of Mullin in the second half of the campaign and he may end up missing out on a number of matchday squads altogether.

Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney showed his class once more
It’s hardly surprising but Wrexham co-owner McElhenney proved once more in the winter window that he’s a standup guy.
James Jones left the Red Dragons last week, linking up with League One side Burton Albion on a permanent basis.
After his exit, McElhenney penned a touching message to Jones and his family, proving once more what a class act he is.
A lot of owners are pretty silent but the American continues to back Wrexham on and off the field. Long may it continue.
Elliot Lee experiment is over
With Mullin and Ollie Palmer off form, Parkinson has been deploying Elliot Lee in a makeshift striker role this season.
It was an experiment that really did not pay off, with Wrexham fans hitting out at Lee amid his form up front.
It would be silly to right the midfielder off completely and now the Welsh outfit have seven strikers, we should once more see the best of Lee on a regular basis now he can be used in his proper position.
Wrexham have one concern after January transfer window
On the whole, Wrexham had a very solid January transfer window and should be able to make a proper push for automatic promotion going forward.
One very minor concern the club may have following the winter, however, is the form of Arthur Okonkwo.
Okonkwo has struggled since returning from injury and now Callum Burton is likely to miss the remainder of the season, Mark Howard is the only viable backup in League One.
Howard has only kept one clean sheet in the seven games he has started and it perhaps would have been wise of Wrexham to sign a better number two in January.
It’s a minor gripe, granted, but something that may come back to bite the club in the coming months.
