Wrexham ended the January transfer window with two new strikers but one position remains something of a concern.
Phil Parkinson was quiet on transfer deadline day but landed the attacking improvements he wanted last week.
Wrexham signed Sam Smith from Reading in a club-record deal, adding a proven League One striker to Parkinson’s ranks.
Jay Rodriguez followed just hours later with the veteran forward arriving from his hometown club Burnley.
Add in the dangerous Ryan Longman and Wrexham have given Parkinson some quality attacking additions.
The hope is that Wrexham will now kick on and achieve a third straight promotion, but one area of concern wasn’t addressed in January.

Why Wrexham backed away from now-Bolton Wanderers star
Elliot Lee remains one of Wrexham’s key players and will have a huge impact on any potential promotion-winning campaign.
Lee has no clear competition though; Wrexham simply don’t have a midfield player with his guile and goal threat.
Lee looked exhausted at times last season and Wrexham failing to add clear competition for him remains a surprise.
Wrexham did look at John McAtee last summer but saw him join Bolton Wanderers from Luton Town.
McAtee – a former nuisance for Wrexham at Grimsby Town – would have fit the bill in terms of adding creativity and linking midfield to attack.
The Athletic now note that Wrexham made moves to sign McAtee and add him as competition for Lee.
However, Bolton struck a seven-figure deal for McAtee – and at that point, Wrexham pulled out of the race for his signature.
Wrexham no longer felt that McAtee represented value for money and backed away, clearing the path for McAtee to join Bolton.
How John McAtee has fared for Bolton
McAtee has been in and out of the Bolton side this season.
The 25-year-old has started 16 League One games and come off the bench in another 12.
Six goals and two assists isn’t a bad record for McAtee but he may have expected to start more games given his seven-figure fee.
The Bolton News suggest that McAtee’s form has suffered due to being used in both midfield and striking roles.
New Wanderers boss Steven Schumacher must now look to get the best out of McAtee and justify the huge price paid for him.
Wrexham play Bolton and McAtee twice inside the next month and will certainly hope to keep him quiet; Parkinson knows his quality having gone up against him and then targeted him, but may well feel that not paying the seven-figure fee was the right decision as things stand.
