Wrexham are no doubt in for a big summer transfer window, and news coming out of Leeds United will be of extreme interest to the Dragons.
Wrexham will no doubt need to spend big in a bid to stay in the Championship next season, let alone challenge for a fourth-straight promotion under owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
The Dragons finished their season with a 2-0 win at Lincoln City last time out, capping off nicely another whirlwind season for Phil Parkinson’s side who’ll be playing second tier football for the first time in more than 40 years next season.
Already we’re seeing some new names linked with summer moves to the Racecourse. Callum Robinson has been linked with Wrexham and so too has Ryan Hardie, with Wrexham looking likely to bolster heir attack in the summer transfer window.
Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin look set to leave whilst Steven Fletcher is out of contract.

Wrexham boost as Patrick Bamford tipped to leave Leeds United
One striker linked with Wrexham in January was Patrick Bamford at Leeds United. The one-cap former England striker has been in and out of Leeds’ plans all season but following the Whites’ promotion to the Premier League, Bamford now looks set to move on.
Speaking on the Inside Elland Road podcast, journalist Graham Smyth explained: “In my head, next [this] summer, Bamford leaves. That means Leeds will already be one down. I would probably be thinking we’ll get a nine but keep Piroe, a very good finisher, as a sub and keep Mateo Joseph to develop.”
Wrexham wanted to sign Bamford in the winter transfer window but it looked as though a deal was too lucrative for the Dragons, with Bamford reportedly earning £40,000-a-week at Elland Road per Salary Sport, which would make him by far the highest-paid player at Wrexham.

Patrick Bamford’s record in the Championship is very impressive
The 31-year-old Bamford has just endured a tough season. Injury limited him to just 17 Championship appearances and the likes of Joel Piroe limited Bamford to only substitute appearances in the league. Not a single start.
But the former Middlesbrough man’s record in the Championship as a whole is impressive, with his best season in the second tier being the 2019/20 campaign where he scored 16, then scoring 17 in the Premier League the following season.
| Stat | Bamford’s record in the Champ. |
| Games | 217 |
| Minutes | 12,712 |
| Goals | 69 |
| Assists | 15 |
| Mins P/G | 184.2 |
Currently Wrexham have experience in their ranks with the likes of Jay Rodriguez, but Bamford would represent someone with experience and a bit more youth. Sam Smith looks like he could be the talisman for Wrexham next season but he alone can’t fire the Dragons to another successful season.
