Excitement continues to build around Wrexham’s preparations for their first campaign in the Championship since 1982.

Wrexham’s Championship fixture list has been released and Phil Parkinson is now preparing his squad for a tough opening game away at recently relegated Southampton.

The Wrexham squad are currently in Australia on a pre-season tour and face Melbourne Victory in their first game. New signings Ryan Hardie and Danny Ward are expected to be involved.

Parkinson has hinted at further signings and will look to bring them to Australia if deals can be completed in a timely fashion. However, The Red Dragons have just given a clear indication on the future of one of their current travelling squad members.

Elliot Lee unveils Wrexham’s new 2025-26 home kit

Wrexham have unveiled their new home kit for the upcoming Championship campaign and Max Cleworth and Lewis Brunt were among players to model the new strip.

Another player involved in the launch was Elliot Lee in the clearest indication that he is set to stay at the Racecourse Ground and fight for his place.

Lee was backed to move on from Wrexham this summer after seeing opportunities limited towards the back end of the League One campaign.

However, fans will see Lee in the new Wrexham strip and consider it a message that he is here to prove his worth.

The kit itself is a throwback to Wrexham’s last outing in the second tier and has its own tribute to the 1934 Gresford mining disaster within the design.

Elliot Lee can still offer something to Phil Parkinson

Parkinson would be wise to keep Lee at the club for the upcoming campaign given his crucial contribution to the team last season.

Lee still produced ‘brilliant’ moments and ended as the club’s top scorer in all competitions with nine goals to his name.

His second half of the season was disrupted with injury but with willing runners in Sam Smith and Hardie ahead of him, Lee could be key in Wrexham’s midfield set-up.

He possesses the creativity that no other player currently has in the squad and when games are tight, the 30-year-old is usually the one that stands up and produces a moment of magic.
