Phil Parkinson has been speaking about new Wrexham transfers this week, and his update was positive.

Wrexham got their 2025 summer transfer window off to a flying start, signing Ryan Hardie on the first day of their window opening.

Hardie, who arrived in a cut-price move from Plymouth Argyle, was followed through the door by Danny Ward a couple of weeks later.

The incomings at the Racecourse Ground have perhaps not been quite as frequent as some fans may have hoped.

But manager Phil Parkinson has now been quizzed on transfers this week, and his comments should excite fans.

Phil Parkinson on Wrexham making signings during pre-season tour

Wrexham’s 2025 pre-season tour squad was confirmed earlier this week with the club jetting off to Australia for the first time.

Ollie Palmer was included despite some fan confusion over his stint at the club.

Wrexham will play Melbourne Victory in their first friendly of the summer on July 11, and despite the focus now turning toward building fitness for the new season, signings could be made in the next week or so.

Asked if the Dragons could make signings while they are away on tour this year, Parkinson, as per Leader Live, was quick to point out former record signing Ollie Rathbone and James McClean deals got off the ground while the club were away in North America.

He said: “Of course. We are going to be working out there on the recruitment like we did in America.

“I was having zoom calls with players in America and I think that’s when we first spoke about James McClean. I had a zoom call with him in a hotel over there.

“There have been other signings like Ollie Rathbone for instance.

“He was a player that we were working on while we were in America and those two players certainly haven’t done too bad for us!”

Wrexham transfer news

Amid Parkinson’s recent transfer update, a couple of new names are now being mooted for a move.

Wrexham want Sontje Hansen but face competition from plenty of sides like Ajax and Middlesbrough.

Elsewhere, Liberato Cacace is on the Dragons’ radar, but like Hansen, they have competition from European clubs for his signature.

Blackburn Rovers player Callum Brittain is a target for Wrexham as well, with Derby County and Boro also named as suitors.
