As always, Wrexham have been ruthless in letting players go this summer, with nine players failing to secure new contracts.
Throughout the incredible rise through the Football League, we have seen Wrexham and Phil Parkinson make tough decisions in the transfer market time and time again.
In recent years, the likes of Luke Young, Anthony Forde, Aaron Hayden, and Ben Tozer have all moved on despite being key players during their time at the Racecourse Ground.
Now, with Championship football on the horizon, the Red Dragons have cut ties with nine players at the end of their contracts, and we’ve got the lowdown on where they’ve ended up.

Where are Wrexham’s released players for 2025 now?
Steven Fletcher – Free agent
Steven Fletcher admitted he didn’t want to leave Wrexham, but the decision was made to part ways with the veteran striker this summer despite him bagging eight crucial league goals in 2024/25.
Fans think it’s a mistake to let Fletcher go, but at 38-years-old, it’s fair to say the Scottish striker was coming to the end of his career.
He is yet to find a new club and will be a free agent at the end of June.
Mark Howard – Free agent
Mark Howard made the decision to move on this summer, prompting emotional farewells from Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, among others.
The 38-year-old was number two behind Arthur Okonkwo last season but stepped in to cover admirably at times. Howard is now looking to be number one elsewhere, and is open to dropping down the divisions to make it happen.

Sam Dalby – Bolton Wanderers
The only player on this list to have already found a new club is Sam Dalby. The striker was out of favour at Wrexham and enjoyed a brilliant loan spell at Dundee United in 2024/25, putting him on the radar of a number of clubs.
Bolton Wanderers won the race for the ‘fantastic’ striker, and Dalby himself described it as a ‘straightforward’ decision to join the Trotters. He has signed a four-year deal with the League One outfit.
Josh Adam – Free agent
Having signed on a free from Manchester City for a year, Josh Adam failed to make an impact at Wrexham and will depart with just two appearances for the Red Dragons in the EFL Trophy.
Jordan Davies – Free agent
Jordan Davies was key to Wrexham’s early rise out of the National League, and fans will always remember him fondly. Injuries have held the midfielder back, but he did make 20 appearances for Grimsby Town on loan in 2024/25.
Phil Parkinson admitted he felt sorry for Davies and was sad to see him leave. But, the truth is, he’s not a Championship level player. He’s yet to find a new club as of yet.
Harry Dean – Free agent
Wrexham born and bred, Harry Dean came through the club’s academy and signed his first professional contract with the Red Dragons in January 2024. However, he’s not been able to make a breakthrough in the first-team and has been let go.
Brad Foster – Free agent
Signed on a free transfer last summer, Brad Foster was ultimately Wrexham’s third-choice goalkeeper last season, and injuries didn’t help his cause. He will now leave the club after making just one appearance in the EFL Trophy.

Liam Hall – Free agent
Another youngster will be moving on this summer, as 20-year-old Liam Hall departs on a free having never made a senior appearance for Wrexham. He signed from Non-League outfit Bradford Park Avenue in 2023.
Callum Edwards – Offered a new contract
Teenage winger Callum Edwards is coming to the end of his current deal with Wrexham, but the club has offered him a new contract. We are still waiting to hear whether that offer has been accepted.
