Phil Parkinson’s Wrexham are expected to be active in the 2025 January transfer window.
With the latest transfer window now just over one month away, we already have a good idea of what the Red Dragons will be looking to do.
11 new signings have been brought to the Racecourse Ground over the last six months but more additions are likely in early 2025.
Amid a long-term injury to Jack Marriott and Paul Mullin’s form dropping, Wrexham want to sign a striker in January.
The club are aiming to bring in a number nine who has Championship experience and Andre Gray could be an option for the Red Dragons, with his Plymouth Argyle deal set to expire at the end of the calendar year.
We also revealed recently that Phil Parkinson has been offered a plethora of strikers already as we head toward January.
But while the addition of a new centre-forward is a priority, the Wrexham manager also wants something else to happen this winter.

Phil Parkinson sends Wrexham transfer message to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney
Ryan Barrnet signed a new Wrexham contract recently after the right-back received transfer interest from elsewhere in the UK.
Rangers, Preston North End and Stoke City were all linked with a move for the defender, who has been immense in 2024/25 so far.
Now, when speaking about Barnett, as per Leader Live, Parkinson stressed the importance of Wrexham keeping hold of all their top stars in a clear message to Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.
He said: “I think what’s important for our supporters as much as the staff and everybody is that we work hard to identify the players we want.
“We bring them in and it’s important to keep them because inevitably, with the way Ryan’s played this season and last season – particularly this season because it’s a step up – that there’s going to be clubs looking at him.
“He’s got more crosses in than any other player in the division and it was very important for us to get his signature.
“He deserves a new contract but more importantly for us, we want to keep our best young players to continue on this journey with Wrexham Football Club.”

Which Wrexham players could receive January transfer interest
With Barnett having just penned fresh terms, a January transfer move for the Englishman looks to be off the table.
However, there are still a number of other players who could attract interest in the coming window.
One expert has already warned Wrexham they are in danger of losing Max Cleworth amid his superb start to the current campaign.
Cleworth is the club’s second-top scorer in League One this season despite being a centre-back and his age could make him an attractive option to potential suitors in the Championship.
Elsewhere, while not linked currently, George Dobson and Eliott Lee could easily step up a division given what they have shown at Wrexham to date.
