Wrexham had a tough time trying to recruit a striker during the 2024 summer transfer window.

The Red Dragons had a largely excellent summer window with nine players signed, including eight fresh faces and Arthur Okonkwo returning on a permanent basis.

However, Phil Parkinson’s side really struggled to strengthen up front during in the most recent transfer window.

Wrexham wanted to sign Will Lankshear from Tottenham Hotspur but after initially being open to a temporary exit, Ange Postecoglou decided to keep the youngster in north London.

Elsewhere, at one point over the summer, Wrexham were front runners to sign Bailey Cadamarteri on loan from Sheffield Wednesday.

However, League One rivals Lincoln City then emerged as leaders in the race to sign Cadamarteri before eventually snapping up the forward on a season-long loan deal.

And now, CIES Football Observatory have released a list of the most valuable players at every club across more than 65 leagues worldwide.

Wrexham’s most valuable player is surprising, while CIES states that Cadamrteri is now the most valuable asset on Lincoln’s books.

Bailey Cadamarteri can dent Wrexham promotion hopes

Wrexham want to sign a striker with Championship experience in the January window but that, of course, can no longer be Cadamarteri.

Instead, the Owls loanee now has a chance to put a dent in the Red Dragons’ promotion hopes next week.

Wrexham face Exeter City on Saturday but are then in midweek action against Lincoln on Tuesday, November 26th.

Lincoln are currently sixth in the League One table and will likely prove a tough test for Parkinson’s men, especially if Cadamarteri starts as expected.
