Paul Mullin’s poor form in front of goal continued on Saturday when Wrexham faced Mansfield Town.
It was a very tight game at the Racecourse Ground, with both teams aiming to end the day sat in the top two.
Wrexham took the lead in Wales with only seven minutes played via man of the season so far, Ryan Barnett.
Wrexham fans showered Barnett with love during the match and even compared the defender to a Brazilian legend.
For the most part, though, it was Mansfield who had the better of the chances on the day. Will Evans threatened several times but could not find the back of the net.
The match probably should not have been as tight as it was though, with Paul Mullin wasting Wrexham’s two best chances outside of their goal.

Paul Mullin misfires for Wrexham vs Mansfield Town
Wrexham were not at their best as a team across the 90 minutes but Mullin will feel he should have scored on Saturday.
His first good chance came in the 52nd minute when Barnett found him free in the opposition box. The striker wasted his chance with a questionable attempt at an acrobatic effort, however.
Then, just minutes before he was taken off in the 74th minute, Mullin was played through into a position he previously would have found the net from.
But despite his protests that the ball came off a defender – the replay suggested it didn’t – Mullin put his effort wide.

In the end, Wrexham beat Mansfield 1-0 but the 30-year-old’s form in front of goal remains a concern.
After Mansfield, Mullin has now found the net just once in 12 league ties in 2024/25 so far.
Questions over his form have already been asked, with Parkinson urged to replace Mullin in January.
However, speaking live on BBC Radio Nottingham during Saturday’s game, former Mansfield defender James Perch was quick to highlight that Mullin is still useful to Wrexham as runners, such as goal-scorer Barnett, can use the forward to create openings for themselves.
He said: “That’s the way they’re going to play, with runners off Mullin.
“That’s their game plan, I don’t think Mansfield will be able to deal with it.
“It’s an early blow for them, not what they would have wanted.”
