Wrexham suffered defeat to West Brom in the Dragons’ first home game of the Championship season.
Wrexham were beaten 3-2 by West Brom at the weekend in another league defeat for Phil Parkinson’s side.
The defeat compounded Wrexham’s winless start to the season following their 2-1 loss to Southampton on opening weekend.
As well as the scoreline, Parkinson was dealt a further blow with Josh Windass suffering an injury against West Brom that saw club-record signing Nathan Broadhead brought on from the bench for his debut.
Unfortunately for the Wrexham chiefs, Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds, the Baggies defeat was a rarity in terms of one record since they took over the Dragons in late 2020.

Wrexham lose second opening home game of season since takeover
Following Wrexham’s winless start to the Championship season, the OPTA supercomputer has predicted Wrexham to finish bottom of the league.
Fears over an instant relegation back to the third tier are far from a reality as of yet, but the onus is on Parkinson to get three points on the board next weekend against Sheffield Wednesday.
The financially crippled Owls visit the Racecourse Ground on Saturday, looking to secure Wrexham’s third consecutive league defeat.
Dragons fans would have to cast their minds back to the second half of the 2023/24 campaign to recollect when Wrexham last lost three league games in a row under Parkinson.
Not only did the Baggies defeat place further pressure on Parkinson, but it went down as an almost unprecedented result in the Mac and Reynolds era.
The defeat was only the second time Wrexham have lost their opening home game of the season since Mac and Reynolds bought the Dragons, with the other opening-day home defeat coming in the 2023/24 season in a 5-3 loss to Bolton Wanderers.
A defeat on home soil is a rarity for the new Wrexham, and Parkinson will be desperate to buck the trend and beat Sheffield Wednesday this weekend.

Wrexham can get first league win of season against Josh Windass’ former side
Wrexham’s opponents for Saturday, Sheffield Wednesday, have been enduring financial hardship throughout the summer.
Wrexham signed Windass earlier in the transfer window after the attacker left Sheffield Wednesday by terminating his Owls contract.
After Windass’ injury against West Brom, the summer Wrexham arrival could be sidelined and miss an emotional first fixture against his former side.

| Games played | 182 |
| Goals | 53 |
| Assists | 22 |
With off-field matters dominating the headlines for Sheffield Wednesday, Henrik Pedersen’s side were beaten 3-0 by Stoke City in the Owls’ first home game of the season.
Morale is low for the Owls, who sit second from bottom in the Championship table, only one place above their rock-bottom steel city neighbours, Sheffield United.
Therefore, Wrexham must capitalise on Sheffield Wednesday’s difficulties to secure their first win of the campaign and start building some positive momentum.
