James McClean returned to the starting lineup when Wrexham drew 2-2 with Cambridge United over the weekend.
The left-wing-back did not feature when Wrexham saw off Crewe Alexandra in the EFL Trophy earlier this week.
James McClean was suspended for Wrexham’s win over Burton Albion last Saturday as well after picking up five yellow cards in the league.
But with Sebastian Revan underperforming, the Irishman was brought back in by Phil Parkinson for this weekend’s meeting with Cambridge United at the Racecourse Ground.
The away team, despite currently battling relegation, actually took an early lead in the match thanks to Elias Kachunga.
However, they were only in front for a few minutes, with Wrexham fans praising McClean vs Cambridge after he scored in the 25th minute.
Steven Fletcher fired the Red Dragons in front midway through the second 45 but they could not hold on to their lead.

After Parkinson moved Elliot Lee into midfield and brought two new strikers on, Wrexham looked much better going forward.
They could not find a third goal, however, and were eventually punished late on thanks to a Lewis Brunt mistake.
The centre-back brought down an opposition defender in his own box, with Dan Nlundulu going on to score the penalty and see Wrexham draw 2-2 with Cambridge.
The Red Dragons have slipped down to third in the League One table as a result of their dropped points after Birmingham City and Wycombe Wanderers both picked up victories in their respective fixtures on Saturday.
Now, McClean has taken to Instagram after the match to offer his verdict on a ‘frustrating’ game.
He wrote: “Very frustrating in the end up to only take a point, on to next Sat and we continue the fight.”
James McClean misses out on Wrexham MOTM award to Ollie Rathbone vs Cambridge United
McClean had an excellent showing on the night and deserves the praise he rightly got from fans.
However, the left-back was not named Man of the Match, with that accolade instead going to midfielder, Ollie Rathbone.
The summer addition has really stepped up his game in recent weeks and provided the assist for Fletcher’s strike.
Wrexham fans praised Rathbone on social media after Cambridge, with the former Rotherham United man quickly establishing himself as a must-pick for Parkinson.
