Wrexham return to Championship action on Saturday afternoon, taking on Norwich City.

The Red Dragons suffered a harrowing 3-1 defeat at the hands of Queens Park Rangers at the Racecourse Ground last time out.

It leaves the Welsh outfit sitting 21st in the Championship table and in danger of slipping into the relegation zone this weekend.

Another tricky fixture awaits Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac’s team on September 20, with it predicted that Wrexham will lose to Norwich.

They have won just one league fixture so far this season and have one of the worst defensive records in the second tier.

Wrexham injury update before Norwich City

In a big boost, two Wrexham players are expected to make a return to the squad this weekend.

Josh Windass has been sidelined for several weeks, while George Thomason hasn’t featured at all this season.

But Phil Parkinson confirmed Windass and Thomason are back. He said: “Josh Windass and George Thomasson will be back available for Norwich, so the squad is a strong one.

“It is a good squad, but we need to get as many options available as possible.”

Elsewhere, Liberato Cacace is injured again and will be out of action against Norwich.

The Wrexham manager said on the left-back: “Libby, unfortunately, got a slight injury when he came back in the building this week. Very frustrating for him and for us.”

Ollie Rathbone is training with the Red Dragons again after his injury, but he’s not currently registered in the Championship squad.

Now Windass is back, he is likely to come straight back into the side ahead of Ryan Hardie to partner Kieffer Moore.

After coming off the bench last week, we could see Ben Sheaf handed his first start following his deadline-day move.

Going into the clash, Wrexham fans are concerned about the left-wing-back spot following the Cacace blow.

The wing-back positions are crucial to the Dragons’ success, but they have become a target for opposition teams in recent weeks.

Issa Kabore was left on the bench against QPR, but he could make his debut against Norwich.

At left-back, with Cacace out, it’s likely Parkinson will stick with club captain James McClean.
