Welcome to Wrexham season four is out in May, and viewers in both the UK and the USA are getting very excited.
As much as owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have helped to put Wrexham on the map since their 2021 takeover, so too has the hit docuseries Welcome to Wrexham.
In three seasons Welcome to Wrexham has documented the Hollywood pair’s takeover and the club’s subsequent rise up the English football pyramid, with Phil Parkinson’s side now vying for a third-straight promotion.
On Easter Monday, Wrexham won 2-1 away at Blackpool to return to 2nd place of the League One table after Wycombe Wanderers’ 4-0 thrashing against Charlton Athletic, who the Dragons welcome the Racecourse on Saturday.
Back-to-back-to-back promotions would achieve the unthinkable for Parkinson, Reynolds and McElhenney and all involved at the club, and for community director Humphrey Ker too.

Humphrey Ker gives Welcome to Wrexham teaser and discusses its popularity in America
Appearing live on BBC News on Tuesday, Ker spoke in depth about Wrexham and of course about the upcoming series of Welcome to Wrexham.
Asked to give a little insight into what the new series will include, and where it starts, he said: “We touched on it already, which is sort of, without being too hyperbolic, [the series starts] on the cusp of history because no one’s done the three promotions in a row before, and that’s something that we felt at the start of the season was possible, and we’re telling that story, and we’re telling the story again of the town.”
Then speaking about Welcome to Wrexham’s popularity in America and its overall reach, Ker added: “What we’ve been able to do with the documentary and with the football club is tell people in American about why football is so significant to us, what it means, what the stakes are.
“And now, I mean truly, I am astonished by the volume of interest… America is fascinated by English football and we are a way in for a lot of people who don’t follow it in other ways.”
It’s thought that at least 5,000 homes in the USA have a subscription to watch Wrexham. Although in the grand scheme of it all still a small figure, it’s a number that will only grow and grow with the more success that Wrexham have under Reynolds and McElhenney.
Ryan Reynolds’ Welcome to Wrexham hint ahead of season 4 release

Parkinson has even gotten involved with the hype. Parkinson says he’ll definitely watch Welcome to Wrexham, both the good and the bad parts, failing to deny that the club having such access to film crews and a worldwide audience is so beneficial for its brand.
The release date for Welcome to Wrexham is May 15th 2025.
