While he’s not quite been the star man this season that he has in previous years, Elliot Lee has still played a big role in getting Wrexham promoted, and he’s clearly delighted with the success.

In the National League and League Two, Elliot Lee’s goals and assists were absolutely crucial to Wrexham’s ability to tear teams apart and gain promotion.

This year, due to injuries, form, and competition for places in Phil Parkinson’s squad, the playmaker has taken a bit of a backseat at times.

It’s largely been down to Ollie Rathbone to wow the crowds and produce the creative spark in the Wrexham midfield this term, but Lee still has ten goal contributions to his name, and the Wrexham fans love him.

Elliot Lee celebrates promotion on social media

Lee doesn’t use social media too often, at least not Twitter/X. In fact, the 30-year-old had not used the platform since September 2024, but he broke that silence this week to hail the success achieved by the Wrexham squad.

He shared four photos from the promotion celebrations, and wrote: “Back. To. Back. To. Back. It’s an incredible feeling to have made history and achieved something so special with this amazing team of people. Three promotions in a row, so proud to be a part of it.”

Lee’s dad, Rob, a former Newcastle United midfielder, also shared praise for the club’s achievement in the replies, writing: “Well done son! Three in a row. Amazing. Proud of you.”

We’re still holding out hope for a Wrexham promotion parade to really celebrate the success, but for now, these enthusiastic tweets will have to suffice.

How much of a role will Elliot Lee play next season?

Elliot Lee played all 46 games in League Two last season, whereas this year he has featured 37 times for Wrexham.

It’s clear that squad depth is a lot stronger for the Red Dragons, and that will surely impact Lee next season in the Championship.

But, there’s no denying that he’s still a player that can make things happen for Wrexham, and he will certainly get a chance to make an impact in the second tier.

Parkinson knows there are tough decisions to make in the summer for Wrexham when it comes to club legends like Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin, but it would be a big surprise if Elliot Lee’s place were at risk.
